Dad, husband, outdoors, indoors. Generalist. Cold war baby. Trinational immigrant boy who never wanted to be anything but Canadian.
So much your last sentence! None of this stuff; academic standards, who married who, medical treatment, what standards sports bodies apply for participation should be national news, the subject of public policy,or frankly, anyone's business other than the subjects and objects of those decisions.

Happy Holidays. To wives and sweethearts....

Ya know, i don't think (as a pretty average white guy) I have ever noticed social pressure to apologize for being white. I have noticed appropriate social pressure to be accountable for whiny mediocrity. Perhaps these guys are conflating the two

Wait, so you're saying the original Ian and Sylvia version is insufficiently emotive?

In which case you may as well tax 100% and redistribute.

I hear you, but, it's part of M1 and if you reduce that, it is deflationary, for assets for sure. We're not talking about one death, but removing all estate value from money supply every year. It ain't nothing. Now, monetary policy could be used to increase money supply to compensate.

Would be a contraction of money supply (assuming assets liquidated for cash which was "disappeared"). So, deflationary.

Oh well. Too bad. Add another one to the"f#@&k that guy" list. Maybe he and Gretzky can do a podcast...

The glue? More like the band aid we slapped on because we couldn't get things done. And yes, the language/tactics are bs.

Oh yes, those manly enemies trying to "flip over" a 2000 lb plus panga in the open ocean. It's engines flooded with seawater, they would presumably row several thousand miles to "join the fight". Two of them. No wonder we need to be afraid of these south american ubermenschen.

One take is that they aren't motivated by ideology. Rather, ideology and technology and their confusing mythology are tools to help them achieve a self sustaining oligarchy, free from the pesky annoyance that is democracy.

Oooooh, pick me! Maybe dipshits who have never done the work and have always been served by others?

Visited the Sunshine Coast in the 90s and made a pilgrimage to Molly's Reach. The person I was with didn't get my excitement. I felt bad for them.

Throw her some cookies to encourage more of this. Don't have to like, welcome or trust. Play to win.

It is easy to forget, but we mustn't. 3/3

I think about young men, boys really, thinking of their homes, their parents, friends, pets and sweethearts as they lay dying on some field in Europe (doesn't have to be Europe but that is what I imagine), and I cry. 2/3

And, for the sake of completeness, some self moderation. It is absolutely possible that this equipment WILL last longer and this makes the move defensible. But, still would require scrutiny-is there really a change in useful life or was useful life incorrectly low before?

This used to be called "milking the balance sheet". It's bad. The auditors who sign off should face investigation (due process and all that quaint shit).
November 10, 2025 at 7:17 PM
Nonsense. You're not rude. I would suggest "charmingly gruff ".
