I don’t disagree with your sentiment. I’d even say it’s true to an extent. I just think it’s unnecessary to be critical anonymously of cyclists for not having the perfect response when a camera is shoved in their face. You have these expectations for the cyclists but are doing so behind a screen

I respect you disagreeing but also don’t think it’s unfair to ask people to hold themselves to the same standard. They will face scrutiny regardless of their response but they are still putting it out there. You can post anonymously & still have an opinion but chastising them is a double standard

Not suppressing any opinions. The comment was in regards to holding cyclists to different standards. People say they post anonymously because of consequences. Why expect different responses then? Cyclists don’t have concerns about what they say? They shouldn’t have the same level of privacy?

That’s perfectly fair. It’s not about having a valid opinion. I’m sure you do have valid opinions. It’s more so about holding a different standard to a very public figure when they are being asked these questions after 185K & people being upset they aren’t perfect in their response

The point being cyclists are dealing with significant pressures & usually get a camera thrown in their face for a sound bite & people condemning them for not giving the “correct” answer are doing so anonymously. One is easier than the other

Why hold a different standard? If you are against genocide why not hold yourself accountable if you are asking a cyclist to do the sam? If you want change which you should then hold yourself accountable. Shitposting on social media is as effective as a rider not wanting to comment

You can post all you want but how are you any different posting anonymously? Put your name on it. Same as the riders. I think that is a fair ask, no?

You never know when opportunities like this will come along & the journey may be just as memorable. I always say go unless it will completely exhaust you
