I'm a native Oregonian and I remember in January 1973 when we moved to DST early due the energy crisis. This was to conserve energy so we used less lighting in the evening. Everybody hated it because the sun didn't come up until 9 AM. I don't think proponents are fully thinking in through.

I was surprised when I moved to NYC, renters were required to supply your own AC units. Even in buildings that have a place in the wall to put them.

We use dryer balls in the dryer. They keep your clothes soft and you can use them multiple times. No need for fabric softener...

I still remember my original phone number. DIamond 5-8955. In the mid 60's, it got converted to 688-8955 when a second phone exchange building was built in my hometown.
