Have dealt with the US patent office. This exists to make $$ for lawyers. It does not make any attempt to protect the intellectual property of US citizens, just to make money for DC lawyers. Clerk assigned to examine my claims didn't have clue what he was doing, badly undereducated.

Instead of remove, why not acknowledge the real image? Better than that why not provide photos of all complete gels? All gels. In this day of electronic photography this will cost nothing and complete images should be provided in an appendix, at no real cost.

Another good protective step is to add plenty of iodine to your diet. Prevents both goiter and COVID and H1N1 and probably H5N1. read these doi: 10.1111/sji.13269 and doi: 10.1111/sji.13111 and doi: 10.1038/s41430-021-00995-2 The first two are free to download and read.
