Neil, sorry I missed replying to your message. It's all done now, but I do think at some point a high-level club will give Robbie Savage a go. Kevin Muscat, who had a similar image, was a name mentioned for the Wolves job, and would have been interesting. But I hope Rob Edwards does well.

That would be extraordinary - not because I don’t think Gary O’Neil is a good coach, I think he might well have a productive career ahead. But to go back in at Wolves in these circumstances would be an astounding development.

Thank you - and yes Villa did seem in the early weeks to be a club collectively in a bad mood, perhaps with a grudge over PSR or something, that seemed to infect everyone. But it feels that has blown away now. There’s a lot they can achieve this season that should be within their capabilities.

Thanks Tony. I fear you may be right, although changing the coach is always a high-risk option. The manager’s position is always the most vulnerable, but replacing him won’t fix all the other obvious weaknesses.

Thanks for reading it and getting in touch. As with all these things, we’ll all find out together in time, but it’s been the Emery method to feed players in gradually. If the player himself buys into that, I don’t see why he shouldn’t prosper in the long run, like Tielemans has done. #avfc

I didn’t realise that. I imagine it’ll need redecorating now after the way things turned out. I did think Vitor looked rather more agitated than we’re used to seeing in the 20 minutes he was there before his unfortunate accident.

Thanks Kevin! That’s really kind of you, thanks for listening as always.
