Small anecdote… I spoke with a person at a wedding years ago that sold equipment to foundries. He told me Intel would buy old equipment and that TSMC was purchasing the current tech. It’s a vague recollection but he was convinced Intel wasn’t investing in its future but rather moving with inertia.
