While a prosecutor, Bondi adopted a dog that had been displaced by Hurricane Katrina. When the St. Bernard's family turned out to be alive, she refused to return the dog, and renamed it "Noah." After high-profile lawsuits, negotiations, and publicity, the dog was returned as part of a settlement.

As a Fox News commentator, she opinionated on many issues outside her jurisdiction and experience, such as the JonBenet Ramsey murder, and the Duke University lacrosse team rape case. Her familiarity to voters as a Fox News personality was regarded as a key factor in her reelection.

In her previous position as a Hillsborough county prosecutor, she was regarded as "tough on street crime" and pushed for more capital punishment. She sent former MLB pitcher Dwight Gooden to prison for a cocaine relapse.

Bondi was one of Trump's impeachment attorneys. She declared that the 2020 presidential election was fraudulent but could produce no evidence.

The Gaetz replacement, Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, is a graduate of Stetson University Law School. As a speaker at the 2016 Republican convention, she led chants of "lock her up!" from the podium, and then in 2018 was the lead attorney in Florida's suit to overturn the ACA. (more below)
