If Dems take the Senate 51-49, Johnny's gonna flip. Watch.

You forgot to add pedos to that list.

Ya know, if Alito or Thomas retire, and this guy is nominated, I kind of hope he's confirmed. And it's be great if it was rushed through during a lame duck Senate, with Dems set to take the majority in January.

That'd leave no room for any Dem to mealy-mouth their way out of expanding the court.

Just had a similar thought myself, except my retort was "Good god, how did you get to be such a doddering asshole?"

You missed the question which was: Can the prosecutors going after Comet be prosecuted if their actions prove unlawful?

Answer is that it would be plenty difficult to overcome their immunity claims.

Happened to me thrice. Worked each time. False allegations each time. Each by top-flight GOP professionals - one ran Laxalt's Nev senate campaign (Bob List, former GOP gov Nevada lied to police in that one too), another was spox for Sec. Interior, and one was Ed Gillespie & crew.

"Without having reviewed the full 160 pages yet, and without the benefit of Judge Smith’s dissent, it is hard to handicap the chances of a Supreme Court stay of this ruling at this point."

That's just adorable, professor.

I've always been appreciative of his piece on George Allen's race problem in spring/summer 2006

if this is what they've released, what are they fighting to hold back?

This. For some people (humble shame face emoji here) it takes practice, but every damn time I've embarrassed myself on the internet, before I clicked "Post", I had a quiet voice saying "Do you really want to send that? I don't know if that's a good idea..."

Just trust me and listen to that voice

This was 2019! That's the part that grabs me. Dude had already been convicted of running a pedo ring.

Hey just a reminder that it only takes 23 Senate Democrats to remove and replace Chuck Schumer as minority leader. They don't do it because the majority of Senate Democrats approve of the way he does politics.

Ha. And what happenes when the House doesn't even bother to take it up? Or when Trump vetoes it?

I'd like to believe there aren't 7 Senate Democrats so obtuse as to bite on this, but... I get a little sick in my mouth every time I think of all the ways Senate Dems have found to cave for the GOP

And I don't know how you have a robust 1st Amendment without an inevitable march toward facistic propaganda.

I mean, what is Fuentes if he's not Goebbles?

I'll tell you what Fuentes is: he's the bleeding edge of the right-wing. He's the machete cutting the path. He's celebrated. He's winning.

The media environment today is largely propaganda. (And what's not propaganda is absolutely corporate-slanted, at least at the network level.)

But the problem is that the largest and most influential media in this country has been objectively propaganda for al least 25 years.

It works.

There's plenty of media criticism, and to the extent it does any good, great. But I think most of it misses the point.

This country didn't become what it is without Fox News and talk radio and Sinclair, and assorted lackeys, larger and smaller.

Germany didn't become Germany without Goebbles.

Oh, nice flex, as I sit here wallowing in my jealousy suffering a dreary and cold November rain in Maryland 😉

I don't have a rec (it's been 21 yrs since my honeymoon), but I always tried to find a small town unheralded family eatery that bought their fish right off the boat.

On my last two trips to Costco, I've been stopped by a complete stranger as Input things in my cart.

First was coffee. She pointed out that last year it was $26, this year it's $42 (but on sale at $34).

Second was organic cane sugar for $17. Last stopped to tell me a couple months ago it was $6.
