Post-work bike ride along the undercliff path, through Rottingdean and Woodingdean, and back again. Cycling away work stress, taking in some lovely views and sea air. Works wonders.

At Shoreham Fort for the 80th anniversary VE day beacon lighting. Lovely work from @garybaines.bsky.social and the team there.

Red Mars on the left, straight out from the corner of the sign, and bright Jupiter over on the right.

Popped out on my bike to catch the sunset, and could see some of the planetary alignment as the skies darkened. Venus very clear and bright, with a faint Mercury just above the banks of cloud on the horizon. Most of the rest of the alignment are around or below where Mercury is but too faint to see.

Painted a 15-strong unit of classic Warhammer Dwarf Ironbreakers recently. Red means stop!

I desperately needed to get out of the house earlier, so grabbed my camera bag and headed to Beachy Head for the sunset.

I was out on a very windy walk with @gemsthbtn.bsky.social earlier today, who took some photos of me taking photos.

Finished painting this Scibor Miniatures Dwarf Lord on bear mount tonight. I made gave her a different axe head and made a crown out of little brass Dwarf runes from Greenstuffworld. Same runes used on the axe head.

Ah the time honoured tradition of stripping paint from very old miniatures, to then sell on eBay. Not quite mortgage material but should get a few quid for these classic Space Marine Terminators.

Another Dwarf model for Warhammer : The Old World finished tonight, this time the classic (1987) Bugmans Brew cart, pulled by the Grudgepony originally found in the Battle for Skull Pass (2006) box. I made some changes to the original model, sides, a barrel tap, a front seat and chains/crossbar.

Just finished this little forge to go with the Anvil of Doom too.

Really happy with how this Anvil of Doom for Warhammer : The Old World has come out. My first real attempt at any sort of heat or glow effect, and my first time using tufts and flowers for the base.

First time posting in the last 7 months. Been a bit of a rollercoaster, ups and downs of mental health, done very little photography, and lost someone very close to me. Going to make more of an effort to interact on here, so here are some Warhammer : TOW Dwarves I've been painting.

With a slight case of serendipity, it's 2 years to the day since I ordered replicas of Thrór's map and key to Erebor, The Lonely Mountain, from Weta Workshop and I've finally got the key up on the wall on it's own display shelf, alongside the map I had framed recently.

I'm very lucky to have lovely friends who send me lovely things. Big thanks to Axel for sending me these chisel heads, a waterstone for sharpening them and a Veritas honing guide. Just need to find a lathe to make some handles!

Just finished reading this. There are a lot of mediocre to bad WH40K novels out there but this is _really_ good. Essentially a story of two near-immortal beings out to dick each other over at every opportunity that plays out over millions of years. Some great exploration of WH40K lore.

Been re-learning my hand tools for woodworking by way of building a little display shelf for my Key to Erebor replica. Coming along nicely. Taking it slow, making sure I get precise angles and sharp corners. This reclaimed teak is lovely to work with.

Photographic evidence that I spent Islip 2024 fighting in the shield wall! My war face needs work.
Thanks for the photos Jenn.

Today's Brighton and Hove digital bus ticket QR code word was "Quest", which is appropriate as I used to to go pick up my other birthday present to myself which was being prepared over Christmas and New Year by Frame Factory in town. Thorin's map to Erebor.

The New River at night, December 25th 2023. Always liked this bit of Enfield Town along the New River and Gentleman's Row, it has nice village vibes compared to the busyness of the centre of town nearby.
