But if the U.S. falters, we do not. Europe has no choice—we are the last bastion of freedom and democracy. Now is the time to show where we stand. The land of the free is no longer across the Atlantic. It’s in all of us who believe in freedom and democracy!

Three years later, the land of the free betrays Ukraine. The U.S. Republican leadership turns its back on the freedom it once defended, moving closer to Russia instead. Values like democracy and human dignity are sacrificed without a second thought.
