Potted Library Plant's To-Do List:

⬜️ Stay low enough to brush people's heads
⬜️ Hide shameful truth that I'm plastic
⬜️ Remind everyone they could write outside if not for sunburn, no open spaces, mean insects, & pollution in our lungs
⬜️ Bully the smaller library potted plant

Went to see Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker speak. Great speech in praise of both liberal policies and listening to people who disagree with you.

He was interviewed by great screenwriter Billy Ray, aka the guy who wrote the Nicole Kidman AMC speech. He delivered a barnburner messaging speech afterward.

Gotta hope that the current Hall H crowd is either full of high levels of Gosling thirst/Project Hail Mary MANIA

and/or a Leftovers situation, but inverse #98percent #SDcC #HallHLine

I am… ABSURDLY far back in the Hall H line, so I fully don’t expect to make it in anytime soon.

But enjoying the shore views, beautiful day, and that ever-present futile hope! #SDCC #HallHLine

Someone in the crowd asked Rep. @robertgarcia.bsky.social how people should make sure the Library of Congress is safe under Pres. Trump’s administration.

Garcia says that the Library of Congress needs more people, not fewer, even just to maintain its current collection & capabilities. #SDCC
July 26, 2025 at 8:16 PM
He also brought a Library of Congress librarian who’s in charge of the comics collection with him.

The collection includes 200,000 comic issues, as well as original art.

As someone with two sisters-in-law who are both librarians, LOVE THIS. #SDCC

Rep. @robertgarcia.bsky.social champions the importance of the popular arts, with about 5 million Americans engaged in them in varying ways.

He also emphasizes the importance of the Library of Congress as an independent collection belonging to the people — including its incredible comic collection.

@robertgarcia.house.gov shares photos from when he was sworn into Congress on documents including Action Comics #1, thanks to its hugely pro-social justice message…

Big fan of Long Beach congressman @robertgarcia.bsky.social promoting the Congressional Popular Arts Caucus at Comic-Con!

Love seeing lawmakers get involved w/ storytelling; makes me nostalgic for when the late Rep. John Lewis did a couple years of panels. 🥲 #SDCC

Nicole Maines explains her take on the Secret Six & Jon Kent.

Fascinating hearing her explain Jon’s challenges as he chooses to “hide behind his father’s code of ethics.”

Her story’s about the trauma in each character, living in the gray in a world dominated by darkness & evil.

Phillip Kennedy Johnson is back to continue his Superman epic, across time.

He notes how his story is about Superman saving a future where truth and justice aren’t virtues anymore.

Sounds relevant to our times 👀 #SDCC

The excellent @markaaltman.bsky.social shouting out @dblackanese.bsky.social throws in a note of the death of the CW.

Trey joked about how their notes from the network are usually “Don’t do that. Don’t do that. PLEASE don’t do that.”

Matt Stone noted they put eyes on Donald Trump’s penis in order to make it a character and keep Paramount from blurring it. 🤷🏽‍♂️
