I never understood the “it’s so bad it’s good” mentality… there are too many great movies out there to watch something just to goof on it.

When I have a super involved page, I try to pair it with a “gimme” page, which is much easier to ink. I don’t work in order.

The other thing they look at is how many people finished the show. Let’s say a million people watched the first episode, and only 250k watched the last episode… that’s not a success… but if 500k watch your first, and 500k watch the last, that’s a success.

We had a screenwriting teacher in the 80s who said the main difference between movies and TV is that you can follow a TV show from another room. TV has always been over-written.

I once had a student ask me who I thought the best soccer player was… and I said just look up the stars. I said “You favorite might be different than the best…” they had a hard time accepting that.
