Around 30 Bald Eagles were feeding on shad this evening at Bombay Hook NWR in Delaware. Here’s a photo I took of one coming in for a fish. The refuge is partly closed and water levels on the main pools are too high for most shorebirds right now. It’s time to open the sluices.

Another birding dream last night. I was in Sri Lanka looking for some sort of chat - but we had to ask the landowner’s permission and by the time that was all sorted - no chat. Better than the one where the bird is right in front of me but the shutter release is jammed! 🤪
