I live in a little ramshackle cottage in the northern Michigan countryside.
The sun is peeking out between bouts of snow. I'll be on the road for Thanksgiving. Let us hope the roads are getting treated. Making glorified rice to take to dinner. Yummy!

According to people who spend time on such things, your marriage will statistically last longer/be better the less you splurge on the wedding. #statistics

A 28-point plan? I've been following the war in Ukraine since it began. There is one resolution: The Soviets leave Ukraine and pay reparations to them. Sending Putin to the Hague for trial would be nice, but that might be a pipe dream. #Ukraine

They say raccoons will be the next pet for humans. When I was a kid, my mom took on a couple raccoon babies whose mother had been killed. We raised them, got them fat, and let them go in the woods nearby. They came back a couple times to visit, but by the next summer, they had obviously moved on.

In my opinion, if the House impeaches a President, the law should require the President to relinquish power to the Vice-President while the President is tried in the Senate. He shouldn't be chief executive while under indictment by the House.

Despite appearances, I can pick up on a person's vibrations better than a seismograph. I notice even the tiniest changes in expression and body language. Neurodivergent people are not blind to social clues, we are blinded by their intensity. How to handle what we pick up? That's a different story.

I did yard work on this gorgeous day. Tidied up for winter. For those of you Ohio and south, once something is frozen to the ground, you ain't gonna move it until spring.

When you don't fit the mold no matter how hard you try, you will never win. The world was created by the normals, and they are not inclined to grant neurodivergent folks much leeway.

How long before Chairman Trump just drafts young people to work the agricultural fields that are empty of seasonal foreign labor due to ICE? It would not surprise me in the least.

Does this really need to be explained? You cannot have your cake and eat it, too, because if you eat it, you have no cake. It's just a saying. Don't over-analyze it.

Fake Christians run our government, and real Christians get sent to jail or get deported for doing the Gospel.

It's not the job of anyone in Congress to defend the president. He has his role in government, and Congress have their role. There is no reason to defend the person in the White House. Policies? Sure, defend those, but the man himself? You do not need to defend him.

The Lord bless all those who are shielding innocent people from the ICE Gestapo. They're out there. We won't know any of them until this whole Trump disaster is long in the past, but they're out there being good and decent, humane in an age of inhumanity.

Why does South Carolina keep electing Lindsey Graham when the Republican Party finds him too slimy even for them? #SouthCarolina

ICE vehicles must have a large tire budget given how many get slashed wherever they go.

The only peace plan that will work in Ukraine is Russia go home and stop this nonsense.

The best Trump can hope for is to resign and get a pardon by President Vance.

The sad thing is, people like Jeffrey Epstein are still among us. They still lure children to bad situations. Rich men still pay lots of money for these girls. Epstein is just the tip of an evil iceberg.

If you take fundamentalist evangelicalism to its logical conclusions, a person who confesses his sins and is forgiven by God, there is no longer any need to apply earthly justice. At least, that's what they believe about Trump. Even though Trump doesn't confess his sins. Or is a Christian.

Human life has value whether it serves the purposes of the Trump state or not. People do not exist just to serve the Trump state; we exist to enjoy the world and serve human progress however we can.

Our Republican congressman here in northern Michigan actually lives in Louisiana. He's hardly ever here, but because he supports Trump and the Republican attacks on our civilization, he gets re-elected. There oughtta be a law.

So Trump can whip a crowd into attacking the US Capitol and that's not sedition, but reminding soldiers of their obligations under the law is? Trump is a tyrant, but a tyrant on the ropes. Keep swinging. Keep landing blows. He can't last for ever.

Trump wasn't invited to Vice-President Cheney's funeral. Funerals are to honor the life of the dead person, but Trump can't ever let someone else have the spotlight, and the Cheney family knows that.

What if Jeffrey Epstein had been murdered? What if the order to do so came from on high? That's way worse than Nixon ordering a break-in at a hotel. Just musing, but what if?

Apparently Bitcoin is losing its value as 2025 winds down. I've never understood how it has marketable value, but for those who do, my commiserations.
