Pain is but the occasional episode in a general drama of Happiness.
I’m afraid it’s quite likely the Ibrox diaspora across Scotland will herd to Reform. They aren’t close to the majority but they’ll do better than people think.

The Crusoe was or go to for years for a pint at the end of our dog walk along the beach. Last few years its been the Railway. I think its now the better of the two.

Even if any of that was true there is no empathy or understanding how you would then somehow walk back vulnerable people who adopted what they were told for 20 years are now settled social norms.

Victimhood only seems to go one way. No surprise she seems to have a different one-way victimhood too.

Counter sue for $10Bn. Then change it arbitrarily to $50Bn
November 15, 2025 at 8:51 AM
Basic rate of income tax in 1979 was 33% And they demur now at 20% FFS?

For that we had doctors coming to your house. Free dentists whenever you needed them. Council house stock pre “right to buy”. Public utilities before we told “Sid”.

It was Thatcher 🤷‍♂️

👏 That’s a better idea than mine to leave it at the base of the pole. This way they have to keep putting new flags up…they’ll give up Soon enough

Even better if the street has a WhatsApp group and all the flags will all be at the police station in no time.

The old guy should get his ladder out and set it on the ground…let me know when you are done lads so I can hop up and take it straight down….and don't waste your time putting it back up as it’s coming straight down again.

If you want it, it will be in a cheap plastic bag.

Good day to you sir!

Just withhold a quarter and it more or less nets out. That’s what I’m going to do.
November 11, 2025 at 7:39 AM
If he gets one single penny from the BBC, I am (legally) withholding one quarter’s licence fee. I’m fully determined on that.

There is no universe where I fund Trump. None.

If the Govt want to go along with that they can discount the fee accordingly.
November 11, 2025 at 7:21 AM
Here does that leave the licence fee? It might feel like we are all funding Trump!

I’m no fan of BBC News but this feels like an existential threat…and we have Starmer/Nandy to fight our corner?
November 10, 2025 at 7:12 PM
The truth is the set piece news bulletin is a dying art anyway.

Gen Z don’t watch linear tv at all, never mind “The 6 O Clock News”.

I gave up on all BBC news programming about 5 years back too.
November 10, 2025 at 1:21 PM
I really couldn’t care less if the next DG takes the BBC news agenda even further right now (as seems inevitable).

I haven’t watched BBC News in 5 years or listened to Today for 2 for a reason.

It‘s seems incapable of being objective. Keep it to entertainment, sport, and educative documentaries.
November 10, 2025 at 8:04 AM
I‘m afraid I just can’t get past the absurdity of the never unqualified ”Hamas Run Health Ministry” in the BBC bias debate.

Those 4 words should be on its tombstone.
November 9, 2025 at 10:05 AM
Another consequence of this is will be the ongoing trajectory of NI cuts by both parties in government.

Can’t help thinking they want to end NI to break the entitlement link people have to the UK pension over time: “I’ve paid my stamp”.

Oh and do we get a tax cut in Scotland then?
November 8, 2025 at 9:37 AM
“….and that innocent person could easily be you”.
November 7, 2025 at 1:27 PM
Nope - I don’t think it is a reasonable standpoint In 2025. This was an election with a huge profile with Trump himself weighing in. It reached far beyond “municipal politics” And a big part of the pushback narrative.
November 5, 2025 at 12:58 PM
I saw that! Along the lines of…”I don’t really follow American politics”…”its a matter for the people of New York”

What a coward! No doubt the Labour party line too.
November 5, 2025 at 7:41 AM
It’s not just a toxic subject Paul. They are impacting real people right now and I believe Lab are deliberately ambiguous as my Polish relatives now very anxious and looking at (very expensive) paths to citizenship they shouldn’t need.

There is no conversation needed - clue in the word Settled!
October 24, 2025 at 5:42 PM
There is never any insight into the fact that in Scotland our income tax rates are different from rUK. Three of you allegedly collaborated on this are you even aware of our tax rates?
October 23, 2025 at 7:41 PM
Yes listening it back they are all working and contributing - supposing they aren’t? Maybe they‘ve been made redundant, perhaps they’ve just had a baby, maybe they just want to join their classmates on the dole - that was what Lam and Philp need challenged on….specifically.
October 23, 2025 at 7:29 PM
This is still far from good enough. The reference to cultural reasons feels deliberate and echoes Labour clarifications to the prior nonsense about ILR needing to contribute more.

Just be explicit - they are welcomed, valued, and have our rights whether they “contribute” or not. SPELL IT OUT!!
