Martindale was a master of this cadence, and prospective hosts should study his technique. He was and will forever be a game show legend and it’s sad to hear of his passing. Rest in peace Wink.

You can’t just give any celebrity game show hosting duties. I mean, you can, but there’s a certain way in which you carry yourself as a game show host. There’s a specific cadence of play that’s needed for the audience to be engaged and for the contestant to feel acknowledged.

If they can come for graduate workers, if they can arrest, deport, expel, or imprison union leaders and activists for their protected political speech, then they can come for you. For your contract. For your paycheck. For your family. And for your rights.

The country would be lost without the NWS. It is heartbreaking to see how far we have gone, seeing people react to these cuts with glee. They don’t know that they are depleting their wallets and sealing their own coffins. Cutting the NWS, and similar public services, will only bring chaos.

Your police, EMTs, fire fighters, engineers, farmers, local on-air meteorologists, county officials… all rely upon data from the NWS. From providing warnings and timings of tornado arrival, to notifying farmers of an oncoming freeze, giving them the opportunity to practice harm reduction….

The NWS is critical in virtually all aspects of society. Through the diligent actions conducted by the workers of the NWS, lives and property are saved, planes keep flying, and ships arrive on time. Weather will always present challenges. It’s their job to help us navigate through those winds.

For sure. Give me a second because I’m loosening up like a batter does before going to home plate.
