I’m not immature. I’m just fashionably late to my own life. Also, I’m a science fiction author and filmmaker who thinks good sci-fi can save the world.
Next month, my time travel thriller comes out. I’m excited to share it. Keep your eyes on here this week for the cover reveal. #indieauthor #scifibook #thrillernovel #timetravel #foundfootage

Art comes from life (something gen AI lacks, BTW). My most impactful work comes from the more vulnerable places. Keep art alive in a world that wants to commoditize and polish and market everything. We are the universe experiencing itself and we make our reality with the stories we tell. #art #film

A daughter returns to her childhood home after her estranged father's passing and discovers the truth behind mystical experiences she had as a child in the nearby woods. How does this change her feelings about her father? "The Lost Sprites," is out now in Dark Horses Magazine. #SciFi #shortstory

Thinking science-fictionally is a skill I wish more people had. How we think shapes our actions. And thinking about deep existential questions, considering systemic and species-wide impact, and contemplating deep time are things we are in desperate need of today. #sciencefiction #amwritingscifi

Our space horror, Ghosts of Europa, will be in bookstores in early 2027. Kristina Orlea and I are writing a novel(s) and this week we signed the contract. It currently exists only as a detailed outline. This is a huge step for us as we going from written "on spec" to now writing under contract.

Our short film, Subscribe, is now part of a fantastic Sci-Fi Anthology. These six shorts all tackle what happens as our humanity and technology continue to merge. This is a worthwhile and visually stunning way to spend an evening. Fans of Black Mirror, you have to check this out!

This is the most expensive selfie I've ever taken! Arri Alexa Mini with Atlas Orion 50mm Anamorphic lens set up by a full camera team, lit by grip and electric team, set dressed by art team. Honestly, such an amazing set of people doing beautiful work! Now time for post-production! #indiefilmmaking

Location, location, location! When we were developing The Rewind, we had a lot of big ideas, and Production Designer Bryan Felty didn’t just bring our dreams to life, he made them even better! Thank you again to Westerman Prop Warehouse and to John Stefanini for making it happen!

Putting yourself in a good process and building good, small habits is critical to long-term success. This is something I wish I'd done better in my younger years. How about you? What would you like to tell your younger self as someone starting out in a creative field? #writinglife #filmmaker #advice

What would you do if your dad went missing 20 yrs ago when you were a child, but you find an old film your dad shot the day he went missing that shows you, as an adult, attacking him and holding a sign that says "stop"?

Another day, another whiner complaining that I use the singular "they" in my work, and of course they can go fuck themselves

(you see what I did there)

(also, gift link)

Opinion | ‘They’ has been a singular pronoun for centuries. Don’t let anyone tell you it’s wrong.
Jane Austen did it. You can, too.

Things don't always go according to plan on a film set. But, having a plan and a crew and cast that are wonderful professionals makes all the difference in the world! This was a rough way to start day two in our office location. But it was such a success! #indiefilmmaking #scifi

GenreBlast film festival has been so amazing! Meeting wonderful people, seeing some truly fantastic films, managing to sell some books, and getting such an enthusiastic reaction for our short film, "The Rewind."

Currently enjoying the table reads. @dianamporter.bsky.social was in the first.

Our disturbing sci-fi short film, The Rewind, had great reception at GenreBlast today. This festival is non-stop fun and the audience and fellow filmmakers are fantastic!

Safety on and off the film set is non-negotiable. That includes working long hours. This is why we make every effort to use our time effectively on set and to keep our days to 10 hours for the crew. #indiefilmmaking #setlife

Writing across mediums is something I profoundly enjoy. While my latest film is playing festivals & being honored with awards and nominations, you can read the short story that started it all. Check out the Altered Reality Magazine website and read for free. #scifi #SFF #shortstory #shortfiction

The sexy perfection of an AI girlfriend turns into an ethical nightmare in this grounded sci-fi thriller that confronts our easy complicity in exploitation and reveals what makes us truly human. What happens when our virtual love requires a human body? Honored to be a finalist at GenreBlast 2025!

Far from being mere escapism or distraction, much of sci-fi deals with the long-term implications of the way we tend to do things in our business as usual approach to life. Speculating about the ultimate implications of our current systems is critical to building a better future. #scifisavestheworld

If you're creative or entrepreneurial at all, you're going to hear a lot of No's, or encounter lack of interest aplenty. How do you cope with rejection? What habits or traditions have you formed for handling the silence and No's? #creativelife #creativeprocess #artistlife #rejection

Excited to be part of GenreBlast Film Festival again this year. This time, I have two projects: our feature screenplay, Code Demon, is a finalist, and our short film, "The Rewind" is screening. It's nominated for best sci-fi, best actress, and best short film. #scifi #shortfilm #filmfestival
