Mike Johnson just said there’s “no point” in bringing the House back to work during the shutdown.

That’s not leadership—it’s surrender.

Compared to Johnson, Kevin McCarthy looks like Profiles in Courage.

Americans deserve leaders who show up, not ones who give up.

He believes pain is leverage.

That is who Trump is and who he has always been.

And Washington Republicans are right there with him.

Trump just pardoned Giuliani, Meadows, Eastman and the rest, just like he pardoned the January 6 insurrectionists.

It’s blatant corruption: a president protecting the people who tried to overturn our democracy.

State charges still stand.

We must never stop fighting for accountability.

Today, I’m remembering the courage of John McCain when he voted to protect the ACA and keep millions of Americans from losing insurance.

Protecting and strengthening healthcare for the American people should be something both parties can agree on, and I won’t stop fighting for it.

Today, we honor 250 years of the United States Marine Corps and the service and sacrifice of every Marine who has defended our nation.

To every Marine—especially those who served at Camp Pendleton—thank you.

I will always fight to ensure you have the support, respect, and resources you deserve.

A few more thoughts from last night’s vote.

First, let’s stop pretending Trump cares one bit about the economic pressure regular Americans are under.

He treats hardship as something to exploit.

Families are already missing meals and paychecks in the LONGEST shutdown in American history.

Next will be missed operations and doctor visits if Republicans allow ACA credits to lapse.

Protecting healthcare for working American families is worth the fight!

I would vote to end this shutdown right now if Republicans came to the table with a health care plan that wouldn't devastate working families.

That's what Democrats are fighting for—to keep lifesaving care affordable for Americans. #GOPHealthCareShutdown

Mike Johnson will go down in history for presiding over the longest shutdown ever, and for blocking Adelita Grijalva from being sworn in because she’s the deciding vote to release the Epstein Files.

It’s illegal, it’s unconstitutional, and it’s utterly shameful.

Hoover dismissed starvation in the 30s by constantly promising "prosperity is just around the corner."

Trump dismisses the current affordability crisis by promising that prosperity is already here, so long as you believe him and not your lying eyes.

I’m not falling for it. You shouldn’t either.

As Trump and Washington Republicans fail to protect health care and food assistance, working families will be pushed emergency rooms and breadlines.

Real people will suffer while Trump luxuriates in his gold plating and marble.
