I don’t think he believes most of what he says, but his hatred toward constituents feels honest.

It's amazing to me that I haven't seen "Raid Over Moscow" mentioned yet. In my pre-teen mind, that was the premier title for the whole platform.

I know it's a stupid rename but I can't really blame companies for accepting changes that come from official government sources. I wholeheartedly blame the people who voted for this insanity in the first place though. Now just waiting for the un-rename on day 1 of the next non-MAGA administration.

I remember when "Freedom Fries" were the dumbest rename to come out of Washington. Simpler times.

Almost... it's "walked 10 miles to school /barefoot in the snow/ uphill both ways." :) Thanks for posting the CD pic though -- made me smile.

Questions are 1) Could it be developed externally (bsky's openness might help?), and 2) Is there a business model that offsets the costs? e.g., Does it filter out the dopamine-fueled toxicity that makes social media popular in the first place? @mcuban.bsky.social perspective would be interesting.

Agreed, it gets a bit nuanced on the opinion side. But even there, an opinion piece on why billionaires shouldn't get a tax break loses credibility if it resorts to using "billionaires are evil" and "only motivated by greed" tropes. Opinion w/out tribalism sets a high bar, but is a worthy goal.

I'm curious about why this is such a bad idea. If journalists know their work will be measured for bias then they'll hone it with that lens before submitting it.

If your concern is that it's an impossible task to implement correctly then that's a fair point, but is the goal itself bad?
