We ran the NASA/Lassen Astrobiology internship program. It’s a science education class offered through red bluff high school. At That site (we dubbed it the alkaline site) we focused on the Cyanobacteria, but it’s super cool that you isolated those amoeba from that stream!

This looks like a high temp spring on the uphill side of drakesbad guest ranch. Can you confirm? We have done a lot of work there, but never looking for enrichment of euks. Looking forward to reading your paper!
