So, mainly high altitude winds? That is, would this be a good way to get dust from Altiplano across lower altitude wind belts (westerlies ?) and to
high latitude and altitude Antarctic plateaus? 😊

Interesting...

As an outsider, I've never been totally sold on pushing the idea of tipping points. Although i couldn't quite put my finger on why. I've tended to think more about how the media grabs on to stuff and presents tipping points. But, now, perhaps I appreciate better some things...

Even in best of times, being a researcher in academia has always been tough, for most, in terms of time to do science. (it's not much different being soft money btw)

Einstein made jokes that the best way to do science was not to be in academia. But, yep, things are exacerbated or even worse now.

yeah, i find it especially helpful when working on potential proposals... get caught up on literature and learn new things ...

So so busy all the time, with age, i have a different view of reviewing manuscripts (ie, above)
