Whilst fee-paid judicial office holders are not subject to the same degree of constraint as those who are salaried, they should not use their appointment as a means of pursuing personal, professional or commercial advantage.

Nothing to stop a fee paid judge doing arbitration or acting as pFDR evaluator. But you need to separate out the roles in any given case.

I especially liked 'It is ironic that what had become the main point of the Claimant's case was not in the Agreed List of Issues, and was barely pleaded, while this aggressively pursued claim against Mr Coulter is a full-frontal attack on his professionalism in pleading' at end of para 10!
