I refuse to accept a fascist America. (Yes, that means that if Antifa were a real organization, I'd be a member!) Instead I am taking every possible nonviolent action to build a better future for Everyone!
As much as I support our National Parks, DT's birthday should be a Parks boycott day. (The public can call it something like "Let the Parks be Natural Day" or "Parks Recovery Day.") After all, NPS won't lose any admissions $$ if fewer people visit on a free day...

The catnaps provided grist for the late night shows, but media outlets by and large gave it little or no coverage. They also made his racist rant about Somalis sound like some dry policy statement. Going by front pages, did either of the two events happen?

Trump repeatedly labeled Somalis "garbage," saying "their country is no good for a reason" and that the US would "go the wrong way if we keep taking in garbage into our country."

Trump said residents of the war-ravaged eastern African country are too reliant on U.S. social safety net and add little to the United States.

The detail usually left out by those making the "we're building the future" argument is whose future they are building. Dig a little deeper and you'll discover that they're building a future for the rich and powerful 1%.

There is no such thing as trickle-down altruism.

And don't think that we haven't noticed the "coincidence" that every Dem who voted "yes" on this stopgap is either retiring or won't face reelection until 2028 or later. (See list in next post.)

Voting "no" doesn't absolve any Senator of responsibility for this epic betrayal of Americans.

For 40+ days, voters like me struggled but stood firm in the knowledge that Dems were holding out for health ins every American can afford.
Instead we were thrown under the bus by Schumer and the Sen Dems.
It's tough to describe how angry and disappointed I feel after this betrayal.

Nancy Pelosi:
If you honestly want to do the best thing, retire from Congress now and let others step up to move the U.S. towards a society respectful of all people. You can pass the baton to those who do not forgive/ignore war crimes in the name of patriotism. (6/6)

Nancy Pelosi:
Plus you repeatedly prefer to deny reality rather than risk being perceived as "left-leaning." On multiple occasions I participated in peaceful protests (Black Lives Matter, etc.) within walking distance of my apartment, only to be labeled by Pelosi as an "outside agitator." (5/6)

Nancy Pelosi:
The mental gymnastics you used to view Dick Cheney's decades of self-serving proto-fascism as "patriotism" is truly concerning. (4/6)

Chuck Schumer:
You promoted Islamophobia rather than support/endorse Zohran Mamdani, the Democratic primary winner overwhelmingly chosen by voters for NYC mayor.

Ultimately you didn't even have the spine to say whether you personally voted for Mamdani. It's well past time for you to retire. (3/6)

⦿ If you withhold support from Democratic candidates who are Muslim (or worse, treat them like an enemy), it's time to let the voters choose your replacement.

⦿ If you've been in Congress so long that you think Dick Cheney was a moderate and a patriot, then it's time for you to retire. (2/6)

If the confused and potentially senile Trump can't understand the difference between "communism" and "socialism" (and - for that matter - "representative democracy"), he shouldn't be discussing politics, much less serving in any elected position.
