I'm mostly interested in wood burning, especially the modern Ecodesign stoves.
Dioxins on stoves are particular bad.

Viewer is here: chronic-illness-channel.github.io/naei-multigr...

And here's 2 line charts showing some of the groups with Dioxins and Activity Data.

And I wonder why you didn't show these charts from the source document instead?

Wood burning 2nd highest. And we don't get much energy from wood burning compared to road transport.

It's only 0.3% pollution from ecodesign because of low usage.
And you should be including seasoned wood as well.

I told you this 4 months ago, and again you've ignored it.

You are not actively trying to improve the air quality in London, or anywhere else in the world.
You are selling stoves that make air quality worse.

Dry wood on an ecodesign stove has higher PM2.5 emissions than an open fire.

I've been looking at electricity generation figures recently. You can swap out biomass with nuclear instead. The GWh in UK Gov DUKES5.6 are very similar for both. So figure for low carbon emission power generation in 2024, was 50.5%. Up from 48.6% in 2023.

Yes please!

Please add one person's right to pollute the air with legal wood burning versus another's right to clean air.

And we don't shift to just UFPs. We talk about a lot more than PM2.5.
Benzene
16PAH
Benzo[a]pyrene
Formaldehyde
And many others.

PM2.5 is not all the same. That's why the egg frying proves nothing.

Here's a statement about wildfire smoke being worse than PM2.5 from all sources.

Hmmm, now wildfire smoke will be mainly from trees won't it??!

Usual drivel from Jason the stove installer. Not backed up with any evidence for his fact-resistant opinion.

It wouldn't be needless to phase out wood burning. People would be healthier.

@charnwoodstoves.bsky.social seem to have gone quiet, and don't want to reply to our comments.
Haven't replied to other data I've shown them either.

And just to highlight again it's not a single case. It's 500 people a week who die prematurely due to the impact of air pollution.

Electric cars are fun.
I only booked a Compact and they upgraded me.
It almost drives itself as the cruise control sees other cars and speed limit signs!
Rear wheel drive too!

I'm happy to be driving along knowing I'm not polluting the air as much as a combustion car.

CO2 contributes to global warming. Doesn't matter about where it comes from.

And then there's Benzo[a]pyrene.
August 7, 2025 at 4:19 PM
And when you are comparing PM2.5, you should be really doing it against gas boilers, not older stoves and fireplaces.

PM2.5 for Ecodesign burning dry and seasoned wood is now higher than gas boilers, and also Power Stations burning gas.
August 7, 2025 at 4:12 PM
Again you are only mentioning PM2.5.

There are also scientists that have confirmed more efficient burning creates more PM0.1.

Also look at cancer causing 16PAH in the NAEI data. Ecodesign just burning dry and seasoned wood went above all road transport.

It's really simple, we need to stop burning stuff.
Whether that's fossil fuels, wood, waste, hydrogen etc.

All combustion causes emissions.

That's where stove users don't think.

We just need to #StopBurningStuff

For some people in Australia, domestic woodburning is the major source of air pollution.

One wood burning stove is very polluting compared to one car or truck.

Why only CO2?

Methane and Black Carbon also contribute to climate change.

These graphs are just for the "Ready To Burn" wood (Dry and Seasoned)

Look how high just the modern eco stoves are compared to gas boilers.
And there's 23 million boilers and 900k eco stoves!!!
June 9, 2025 at 5:01 PM
And not minor for doctors either.

Here's one saying even the modern stoves are "a major cause of concern"

Myself and a few of my friends really suffer if we are around wood smoke.
I can never know if where I am going is going to be ok.

Even in rural areas wood smoke is a problem.
This is one of my friends.
