A big moment in my (thankfully then fairly young) life was the one when I realized that just because I found sometime attractive didn't mean I was obliged to do anything about it, I could just acknowledge the fact to myself and go on with my life. Saved me from regularly making an ass of myself.
I think it’s healthier to recognize that tendency, too. There’s a very clear line between recognizing that you find someone attractive and acting on that attraction
