Tar Heel born.

I host Locked On Blazers, a daily podcast about the Portland Trail Blazers
Blazers cursed by these unforgivable overhead camera angles? Could be!

I got a haircut and recorded an episode of Locked On Blazers this morning. If you're interested in the latter, it is in your audio feeds and on YouTube right now.

Nobody writes like Katie. Nobody writes about Summer League like Katie. Students are so lucky to learn how to approach the craft from someone so uniquely talented.

"Don’t bury it, don’t write from down here ... We have enough of that for lifetimes. Go up."
11 days in the desert and as usual, my ragged, entirely too tender attempt to get it all down — summer league forever

(I never do this and I don’t have any followers so someone with reach please RT)

Send me your Blazers draft dreams. Either a player they pick at 11, or something else that is mildly plausible for draft night.

I will use the ones I like on the podcast*

*unless I do not follow through on this idea.

“I never had anyone really that went through the experience that I was going through," Donovan Clingan said.

When Justin Minaya's mom died last summer, the Blazers rookie became that person for his new teammate.

Donovan Clingan, who lost his mom at age 14, became a source of strength for Justin Minaya, whose mother died last summer.

Oh no the Noble Blazers of Postseason Pursuit are perhaps flirting with something unsavory. Lol.

The last two sporting events I’ve tried to show my two year old have been an absolutely excruciating Carolina loss and the Thorns giving up a goal in 4 minutes.

This is actually good parenting. Most teams lose, kid.

We’re going to the Blazers game tomorrow. Sorry in advance.

Making content on the internet everyday can be exhausting at times. There’s a lot of dummies with access to a bullhorn to tell you something you put effort into sucks and is bad. But sometimes it can be deeply rewarding to hear from folks who appreciate your work

As our notions of a constitutional democracy are decaying at warp speed around us, there's been a lot of good Trail Blazers content on the internet this week!

12 days between losses felt like several months. Mostly because each day is *a lot* right now but also the Blazers did a lot of convincing winning.

They will likely win some games again and also lose some.

Please like and subscribe.

For those curious, the NBA did not reach out to Shaedon Sharpe about participating in the dunk contest. He told me he didn’t know if he would’ve done it if offered but they never contacted him or his agency as far he knows.

A podcast? Focusing on the Portland Trail Blazers? Ostensibly centered around this game?

Absolutely. No problem. None at all.

A Carolina basketball thought: Not having a single good player taller than 6-6 in the era of college hoops free agency should be a fireable offense.

Also, I love this stupid tiny team. Oops all guards: Piedmont Edition.

I’m proud of the work I’ve done in 2024 but really closed the year strong by introducing a remix to Whodini’s classic “Friends” for when my 2 year old is getting dressed.

“Pants! How many of us have them (have them)? Pants! Ones we can depend on! Pants.”
