Thought experiment. If a book was titled "Syd Barrett and the shadows of Resurgam" what would it be about?

And we'll bask in the shadow of yesterday's triumph
And sail on the steel breeze
Come on, you boy child, you winner and loser
Come on, you miner for truth and delusion, and shine

Well, you wore out your welcome with random precision
Rode on the steel breeze
Come on, you raver, you seer of visions
Come on, you painter, you piper, you prisoner, and shine

You were caught in the crossfire of childhood and stardom
Blown on the steel breeze
Come on, you target for faraway laughter
Come on, you stranger, you legend, you martyr, and shine

I like the revelation space series immensely. Some of the action is, I think, the most horrific horror I've ever encountered. More so than Edgar Allan and all that sort of thing. (i.e. The Clockmaker.)

Yep it's Reynolds who has the pattern jugglers. Pretty interesting idea. Aquatic group mind organism, can absorb the mind of a swimmer and play all sorts of tricks, like swapping minds. Has done so as central part of story, of course.

Looking through his life I see Roxy Music, Cher, Celine Dion etc.
He was also apparently involved in Brain Salad Surgery and Karn Evil 9.
Time to dig further methinks.

The characters I purposefully left open - therefore the yellow jester is a manipulator I see, and perhaps others that you see. As I remember, the fire witch was an arms-dealer I had read about - and the rest of the song is all compiled like that.

That got me thinking of Peter Sinfield. I've never explored what else he did.
Here's something he said: Sinfield: "CRIMSON KING" is about oppressors and manipulators. It also describes the various states of mind I was in while thinking about them.

To me there's something about Lake's vocals on Epitaph that still almost takes my breath away.

Crimson and Clover was the first disc I bought. I remember picking blackberries to get the money.
I remember a friend who was nuts over "Low Spark".
I loved "Court of Crimson King" too.

Thanks.

Oh yea.

I can't get away from thinking about their impact on soil turnover, mixing, etc. After millennia of that the soil is different.
Half of a tree is underground, I have little understanding of that.

Corollary questions. What happens to soil profiles, when sloths are removed? How do we investigate?

I look forward to seeing how the landcscapes recover.

Various Cockatoos assassinate some tree types by biting off all leaves, repeatedly.

Long term some species cannot survive, others are shaped. Others only grow from inaccessible rock crevices.

Remarkable.

Thanks. This is a subtle, and critical, shaping of landscape and evolution.

I watch something akin to this, here in Australia.

Wallabies nibble the whole landscape every night. Some plants die, others adapt. Plants are literally shaped.

Article not viewable in Australia unless the reader wants to submit to an age check. Last I tried a substack surveillance and monitoring check like this, the system flubbed the camera check (I could see the image fine myself), then wanted a copy of a passport or something. Bravo Sierra.

I'm surprised that few worry about the power of YouTube.
That so many increase their hegemony.

Worth sitting back and thinking.

Is not working a good or bad thing? Do you want that?

Is too much leisure a form of hell?

Is your vinyl the US or the Southern African version?

I wouldn't use it for phone numbers. Not for email addresses either. Potentially I might want to link up with those I've shared a PGP key with, or an approach linked to Yubikeys (or similar). Are they envisaged? If so are there any details you can share?

Yep great.

Pity so many get to see it via YouTube though!
