About a week ago, we got a Great Blue Heron surprise in our back yard. They normally prefer the large fields on all sides of us - better eats, I suppose. I've seen them from far away, but having one this close was stunning and magical. Not a great photo but still proud of it.

My red baseball hat with the embroidered words, in black, stating "Partido del Trabajo". You got me looking around at more spider webs for waspy kinds of pests. This one near me got a nice meal the other day - which I think is a yellow jacket. Maybe? No matter though: Out here in Cali our spiders are also getting the job done! May your NYC spiders be as lucky. 🤞🏽

Nature and animals don't suck. Natural spaces (preserved & wild) also don't suck. It's one of the few reasons I haven't totally, completely lost it yet. Especially when it makes me focus on being very in the moment. Which in turn led to this nice hawk photo on Wednesday.

The only business we should have with domestic Brazilian issues is using them to show our justice system how to have a backbone in upholding the rule of law.
Paragraphs from the BBC article on Bolsonaro's conviction quoting one of the justices on the case. It reads: Justice Lucia compared the attempted coup to a "virus", which, if left to fester, can kill the society in which it has taken hold in. Yay! More hummers for everyone! 🐦😁 Coincidentally, the past few nights I have had the same hummingbird return to roost in the same spot about 15 feet from my back door. It always arrives about 10 minutes before sunset and spends a few minutes preparing for their nightly torpor. 🪶 #birds #nature

But with enough searching, I found this 2023 photo from our local Great Horned Owl nesting season. I believe this was also one of the first good shots I got of all the owlets in the same frame. 🪶 #birds #nature #owl

I'm so sorry. That sucks. But know you're not alone. I'll send what good vibes I can muster through these murky, malodorous times. Part of what helps me with it is my security team: Beyond being on alert 24/7, occasionally he's good at cuddles too - if you get down on his level! You got this 💜
