Comfort is the enemy of growth and fulfillment. No-one plans to fail in life, they simply fail to plan.

Very happy to chat with anyone that likes my photos.

I didn't begin to understand my nudism until my late 40's. Growing up near water there was always skinny dipping, but it wasn't until I found Haulover Beach that I experienced the joy of being naked with others. My first sense of true acceptance, I had discovered me.

It’s important to get to know your camel before starting a ride.

Good to be home and riding again. Leaves are almost done for the year, but I should get a few more weeks of riding before winter.

The completion of a journey. 4 countries. 3 different Camino’s. 500 kilometers walked. Countless evenings and dinners spent exchanging ideas with people from around the world. Travel is the only thing you can buy that makes you richer.

It is unfair to talk about the folly of the 1% without recognizing that its existence has always been with us. It ebbs and flows with the tides of time. This era too will pass, yet our ultra wealthy will leave no lasting monument to their existence.

Not ready to give up motorcycles yet but camels are quieter and surprisingly smooth.

Arrived in Gibraltar too late for any touristing but I wandered the Main Street had a nice dinner and walked up as high as the Churchill Tunnels. Unfortunately I have to wait until 9:00 am to get tickets. But looking forward to a full day exploring

Kinda fitting that the end of the world would be inhospitable. Rounding up a little, and ignoring all the times I missed a marker and had to backtrack or followed a Variant / Complementary route, I’m calling it 400 Kilometers of walking the Camino

Today I walked through the hills of Galacia and past burial mounds dated at 4500 bce the history in this small corner of Spain is the history of human kind.

The first 280 Kilometers done. Tomorrow I head towards the end of the earth, Fisterra Spain. Another 110 kilometers walk.

It is difficult to focus on the petty ramblings of politicians and celebrities while walking a road commemorated 1700 years ago. The triviality of humans is not in my thoughts.

Whatever else I discover on this trip discovering Portugals passion for art in any form will stay with me. Mundane becomes whimsy. The everyday item must add amusement

Time slows on a long walk. The villages pass in a blur. Atlantic waves crash along the shore. The Camino has its own pace. Portugal is welcoming and friendly at every turn.

I had always believed it was the church that held mankind back through the ages. But it was the oligarchy that built the guided cathedrals of Europe that used religion to suppress and control the masses.

On the surface just a bunch of pretty boats lined up for the tourists. They are each however representative of an ancient wine houses in Portugal, most older than the discovery of the Americas

Sometimes you need to park the bike in order to experience more. The bike will be sad, but it will wait loyally for the next ride.

I'm not sure it's true, but it feels accurate.

Got to spend a few days at Bare Oaks last month. Always a blast to visit, and I got to ride up to Tobermory, and ferry across to Manitoulin. What a great weekend

Nice ride up to Smith Falls and along the Rideau. Some interesting sights along the way.

I have yet to find truly fun riding roads in New Brunswick but the scenery and experience more than make up for it. The Bay of Fundy is spectacular.

That was a lot of fun miles on that old rubber

The challenge of course, is we travel with our gear clipped to the back of our bikes, so to hike, eat, and explore we need to let go of paranoia about theft, and walk away trusting in human nature. I have never been disappointed.

We need to normalize walking out of restaurants that haven’t taken your order within 15 minutes of entering. My guess is road houses have no interest in return business

I did it twice this summer and found it very rewarding

It is the side trips down less traveled roads that give life meaning. The best part of the plan is when you chose to ignore it

Nature is best when it's up close and personal. Marshlands along the St Lawrence valley offer spectacular opportunities to view wind life.
