If the story doesn't deal with the differences, and it's just for descriptive flair, and the story can work with all humans, then my preference is all humans. ...but it depends also on target audience, tone, sub-genre, ... :-)

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and assume they meant the very commonly used "Plutonian year"?
