Congratulations to Ayah Al-Zubi on becoming the youngest member ever elected to the Cambridge City Council. Hats off to Ayah, her volunteers and campaign team, the dem socialist movement, and especially to the voters of Cambridge who sent her to the council on the first round of counting this week!

With @benjiwheeler.bsky.social at his victory party in East Somerville last night. I got to know Ben over the course of the campaign — and people who’ve known him for years kept telling me he’s the real deal! I was proud to endorse him and am excited to work with him on social housing and more! 🎉

Congratulations Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani — proud to campaign for you and meet with you in Queens last week. Congratulations to the democratic socialist movement and to the people of NYC. Let’s now make the affordability agenda happen not just in the Big Apple but everywhere in the USA.

Here in East Somerville with Somerville for Palestine where the early numbers for the Palestine Solidarity ballot question are looking very positive. I was proud to endorse a Yes vote on Question 3 and to support the incredible efforts of this grassroots campaign.

Interview clip w/ @channel5bluesky.bsky.social outside the rally in Queens last week; asked about the reasons for Zohran’s popularity, I said his campaign is building on the Bernie movement by standing up for the things Democrats have always said they believe in but that we have to fight harder for…

Thank you as well to @aoc.bsky.social for being such an inspiration and such a fearless leader — and for allowing me to show off my Green New Deal tee shirt under my Tax The Rich sweatshirt! 🤣

Incredible weekend campaigning for @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social and the affordability agenda. Thank you, Zohran, for building the movement to make buses fast and free, to win universal childcare and a rent freeze — and for being a nice guy. This is the most hopeful moment since before the pandemic!

Out here in Queens canvassing for @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social and the affordability agenda. Looking forward to the rally at Forest Hills Stadium with Bernie and AOC this evening! 🙌🏻

Clean Elections are at the core of our vision for leftist politics — so I was excited to testify this week before the Joint Committee on Election Laws in support of legislation I filed to allow for public financing of municipal elections. Thank you @votejivan.bsky.social for working with me on this.

We also got the state to initiate the design process for a second headhouse-entrance to the Assembly Orange Line station. All of this will complement major new upgrades to Draw 7 Park, currently under construction!

Tonight at 7 pm, MassDOT will host a virtual design public hearing to review the plans for the Mystic River Bicycle Pedestrian Bridge. I am very proud of the work we’ve done with my local colleagues to advocate for state funding to construct this bridge with a newly-designed 18-foot width.

No Kings on Boston Common yesterday was incredible — so many creative signs and costumes, powerful speeches, and some great musical performances. Thank you to everyone who organized, who showed up, and who said hi! #NoKings

In light of an avalanche of pending federal budget cuts, passing the corporate Fair Share proposal to tax big corporations that seek to “offshore” their profits is so important. @raiseupma.bsky.social @progressivemass.bsky.social @electerika.bsky.social @massteacher.bsky.social

Excellent Town Hall Meeting in Porter Square last night in support of making big corporations pay their fair share in taxes. As State Representative, I’m proud to always be on the forefront of efforts to #TaxTheRich and address today’s unprecedented wealth and income inequality.

That’s why I’ve urged the Somerville Board of Election Commissioners to overrule the anti-democratic objections to the Palestine Solidarity question and to place the question on the ballot today.

In this moment where human rights organizations have concluded that Isreal is committing genocide in Palestine, hundreds of Somerville residents took to the streets this summer to gather over 11,000 signatures to put a non-binding advisory question on the November 4, 2025 municipal ballot.

I have long stood for the principle that the freedom to criticize governments must be protected, and that criticism of the Israeli government is not inherently antisemitic.

This morning, I submitted this testimony to the Somerville Board of Election Commissioners — asking them to overrule the anti-democratic objections to the Palestine Solidarity ballot question — and to proceed with placing the question on the municipal ballot today.
