San Francisco based: visual art/music/ecology. Currently adrift…
Trump wanting to take a stake in Intel (and possibly others) is a good first step. We need more state intervention in and ownership of large companies. But taking a “stake” alone is not sufficient. Companies need to be steered toward broad-based social benefits, not the enrichment of the few.

A year ago today we closed on the sale of our house in Massachusetts, kicking off a wild 10 week period where we lived in the “fart” motel for 6 weeks, drove across the country, and, finally, settled into our new place in San Francisco.

Saw this large mash-up of the Andre The Giant Has A Posse sticker and The Crimson Ghost this morning in Dogpatch, San Francisco. I know it’s been seen in other places - like LA - but my first time seeing one. Not sure who’s behind it. I guess Andre The Ghost Has A Posse.

Mamdani crushing Cuomo in NYC’s primary feels like a tectonic shift, one that’s been gathering steam since Bernie ran for president a decade ago. Do democrats finally “understand the assignment”? Wake up or get swept away!

America runs on warlust!

There is no way we should be helping Israel bomb Iran. If it happens we should occupy the streets until it’s shut down. Then, finally, elect a suitable opposition party. The dems are complicit!
Democrats Ambivalent On Trump's Possible War Despite It Being Deeply Unpopular
Progressives want a vote on the president’s war powers while many Democrats are keeping quiet.

It will not be enough to get the Cabal of Corruption out of the White House, we need to abolish ICE and DHS & defund the military and police. The apparatus of power is too militarized for democracy to flourish.

I found my way to the legendary Gilman yesterday while on a walk in Berkeley. Seeing it made me think about how irrelevant Architecture has been to many of the most important places I’ve been to. Quite an existential dilemma for someone who works as an architect…

Not sure if anyone has coined the term fast tech yet, but the social and ecological issues around the churn and burn of technological innovation has got have fast fashion beat by a country mile.

Went to Golden Gate Park today and decided to go to the SF Botanical Garden... 🤯when I learned it's free admission for city residents. The place is amazing, free or not!

The beginning of the end of neoliberalism?

The US needs a new origin mythology. Part of the reason we’re in this mess is because of the idiotic idea of rugged individuals picking themselves up by the bootstraps. It poisons so much of how think. (Of course, it doesn’t explain everything, though.)

Amazon’s ‘Shop Small Business, Shop Amazon’ ad campaign is next level shit. Even if the claim is true, they want me to believe that spending money on a small business across the country is the same as direct help to businesses in my community. All while Bezos gets his cut. #FuckAmazon

Thinking about home affordability and homeless issues in the U.S. Not really a new thought, but I just don’t see how a commodified (ie. capitalist) model solves the problem of chronic crisis. It just isn’t in enough people’s interest. #socialhousing

What are your biggest problems and points of stress/frustration in the #AEC industry, particularly on the #architecture and #design side of things?

Just found #philosophytube and the clip “Why We Can’t Build Better Cities” is the best thing I’ve seen in the socialsphere in a minute. (Who doesn’t love multiple references to David Harvey?)

Took this off the easel for now, but making good progress. A few thoughts guiding the piece: Prosopagnosia v. Pareidolia, speed + pixel perfection v. inefficiency + imperfection, and body dysmorphia - deleting myself in a hyper hot sea of psychedelia. #acrylicpainting #gridpaintings #pixelpainting

Feeling tons of gratitude that this is my view right now. (If only I could carry this peace with me…)

Finally taking some small steps to minimize my social media footprint. Threads: gone. Pinterest: Gone. Facebook: just deleted. What’s next? LinkedIn? Instagram? Bluesky? Is any of it worthwhile anymore? Was it ever?
