Yes - the under focused-on part of the story is that the people are being IMPRISONED, not just sent back to their home countries. It’s bad enough to deport without due process, but to imprison? That’s gulag-level scary.

Just have to disagree. I’m sure people were throwing around the word fascist improperly 30-40 years ago, but the proper use of the term has exploded in the recent past, precisely because the word retained meaning and punch to people who are now using it.
