Nice!! When I was starting, I found cables to be a really nice sweet spot at the intersection of "looks cool", "is interesting to do" and "not nearly as hard as it looks".

Love it. It's such a great game.

I played in one during the pandemic, as an ex-navy cutter in a gang of spies watching the docks. Playing in another group now, as a lurk in a cult where we're constructing a god.

What trouble is your group getting up to?

Wooo! First time, or do you have a campaign going?

Agreed, yup. The regret update maybe looks familiar to an rl audience, but the strategy averaging isn't intuitive.

Hah. I tried in my MSc thesis, but I'm sure it didn't age well.

No problem! I really loved the Golden Idol games too.

In the mystery game genre, but more abstract and not in-the-moment like Obra Dinn and Golden Idol, I really enjoyed The Roottrees Are Dead: store.steampowered.com/app/2754380/...

A genealogical mystery straight out of 1998. Scour the early Internet for clues, uncover hidden connections, and piece together the family tree behind the secretive Roottree Corporation.

Severance is fantastic, you'll like it!

Oh wow, yes. I'd forgotten which book it was in, but the torture short story from this one stuck with me forever. Definitely was too young for that.

Hey, I'd join! I'm still working in RL, just building on top of LLMs now.
