I was lucky enough to be asked to review 'Consumed' by Saabira Chaudhuri, an investigation into the role that big brands have played in getting us hooked on plastics.

It's published today in the UK, available in the bookstore or audio store where you choose to spend your money.

If plastic were a country, it would be the 5th biggest emitter of GHGs - but it causes many other problems too.

Our plastics problem epitomises our current inability to live carefully on a fragile, finite planet. One of the layers of the polycrisis explored in my book A Climate of Truth.

Now is the time to stand up and be counted.

I've done a few talks now about my new book A Climate of Truth, and I thought I'd say a few words about the early reactions I'm getting - it's amazing the energy that it's sparking off in the room. The basic message we've forgotten is that truth really matters.

The COPs badly need to learn from failure after 30 years of emissions continuing to rise. Places to look include lack of defence againt corruption by vested interests, inadequate theories of change (eg that underestimating rebounds from both renewables and NDCs), wishful thinking.
