For my aunts it’s “ant,” but auntie is not a word I ever said so I say it “ahnty” like I hear it from other (Black and Indian) folks. In Oz it was “anti emm” since that’s how they say it in the movie.

When the guy from Mauritius shows up, it feels like he flew in from one of the other optimistic post-apocalyptic shows: Carol & the End of the World or Last Man on Earth. (Also very funny that he’s played by Roach from OFMD in an episode titled “Pirate Lady.”)

Two episodes in, Pluribus reads as a show about how Gen X’s reflexive cynicism tends toward conservatism. “Everything sucks and only I can see it, so if things seem to be going too well, you better believe I’m gonna fuck it up for everyone!”

Yeah, it was a good group of folks. It was fun to be working for The Fugs’ label! I was there for the Vanguard acquisition and I think it basically ran itself, though I remember a few things happening with the Leon Fleisher release. I think Danny Goldberg was dedicated to it.

Sadly it was before my time! I was there for Khia though.

(My first post-college job was at Artemis Records, which put out the final Zevon album, The Wind. I have a gold record of it somewhere.)

Oh, same! I think Gilligan kinda likes it too, so I’m interested to see how he complicates it.
