Today Seattle University held our Racial Equity Summit. The speakers & breakout sessions were outstanding but the mere fact we held a RACIAL EQUITY SUMMIT in this environment was amazing, inspiring & so awesome & is another reason I'm proud to be a Redhawk.

Today is Transgender Day of Visibility. If ever there was a time to step up for the trans community, it's now. Trans people are fighting for their right to simply exist - think about that. So please stand up for those who need it most. (1/2)

A bit of Zen amidst the chaos. Whether it's a week of snow or a month of. ...whatever this is that we're living in. ...we're all just trying to make it through.

Happy Christmas Eve! My kid is 17 but I still update her all day on where Santa is via NORAD Tracks Santa. And she still humors me. And I still get seriously stressed - I'm not kidding - that we're not going to get home and in bed in time before he gets to our house.

I love A Christmas Story but it's really bizarre when during the Christmas parade the Wizard of Oz people march by followed by Mickey Mouse and then the flying monkeys swoop in and attack Mickey and everyone is like "Yay Christmas!"

Happy Festivus! A day when people are free to air their grievances. Or, as government social media managers call it, "literally every day."

One of our favorite stops every year is checking out the amazing lights at the Tulalip Resort. The amount of work they put into it is pretty astonishing. Recommended if you haven't been up there.

One last stroll around the Seattle University campus before starting a university-wide break until after the new year. As someone who has worked every Christmas eve and day to some degree for the past decade, that's pretty sweet! Happy holidays!

Continued our tradition of going to Seattle's Tribute to The Last Waltz. As always, an incredible show by local musicians fundraising for NW Harvest. The singer on the right, Ethan Anderson of the band Massy Ferguson, and I were young sportswriters at the Everett Herald from 1996-99. Fun night!

Earlier this week Seattle University held a vigil for Trans Day of Remembrance. As an alum, employee & dad to a soon-to-be Redhawk, I'm proud to be associated with a place - a religious school no less - that treats EVERYONE with dignity, respect & humanity and fosters a supportive, safe campus.
