Am I the only one who starts rereading a play and then decides I must compare multiple adaptations?

Particularly looking forward to the Brian Friel which has the wonderful Justine Mitchell on the cover.

Some days, I can’t seem to settle to any particular music and then a track from this pops up.
Phenomenal! Dury at his finest. The combination of absolute bangers with the jazz influences. Mwah!

I cannot recommend this book highly enough. Great writing that manages to touch lightly on politics, sexuality, race and class. The main character is an actor and the scenes around his career rang completely true.

Loved this book. I can see why so many people are raving about Mieko. It’s a well worn trope - School outcasts being bullied but it’s so much more realistic and thought provoking than the norm.
Trigger warning- some graphic bullying/violence

When the Late DJ Steve Wright did his afternoon show on Radio 2, he used to have a feature called The Big Quiz. I took part and won a bunch of prizes including all the Eurythmics albums. Haven’t listened to them in ages but this is class!

Loving this show on Disney. Borderline silly- police procedural meets sitcom.Kaitlin Olsen is a high energy masterclass in comic acting.

Really enjoying this. I don’t really know much about Mogwai. Anyone recommend any of their other albums?

Just about to start the third Prefect Dreyfus Emergency. The other two were terrific page turners. Epic sci-fi combined with the pace of a police procedural.

Just wanted to recommend this book as entertaining and educating ( but not in a hit you over the head way). Doon has continued to ‘kick against the pricks’ even when it might be detrimental to her career. It can be done!

Hi. I’m Mike and I’m a bibliophile. I love reading but I also love books. One of my favourite editions is Oxford World’s Classics. Lovely design and a pleasure to read. They flop open delightfully without damaging the spine and the type is perfect. And so many of them!

Surely, the Rougon-Macquart series of 20 novels is one of the greatest achievements in world literature. All of them work brilliantly as individual reads whilst adding to the whole.
According to Zola’s suggested reading order, this is number 16. Time to re immerse myself!

Always like to have a number of books on the go. This is the most recently started and the one that’s getting all the attention. A real page turner. Read all the Slough House books and this is the 4th of the Zoe B thrillers. Whatever next?

Giving this a (virtual) spin. Not one of their most celebrated albums but well up to scratch. If you want to feel like you’ve been gently immersed in slime, just take a listen to Cousin Dupree.

Listening to some Joe Jackson and thinking he must have one of the most varied selection of albums. Remember seeing him around the time of the 1st/2nd album in a small venue in London. Awesome!
