I always thought the pool’s closed thing was a reference to Queer as Folk where a high school swimmer hits his head and bleeds in a swimming pool and his parents out him having aids in front of the whole school. www.youtube.com/watch?v=j4Nm...
Obviously the swastika has aged very poorly but back in the day the nazis were almost entirely non-existent in the political landacape of Finland. The group originates from 2006 when a several different groups of weebs unaware of each other decided to don the afro costume in Animecon 2006 held in Helsinki. I got acquintanced with them a few years later and I can say it was all done sincerely for the lulz.

I’ve always had the understanding that the Habboraids started because Habbo Hotel moderators were accused of being discriminatory towards users with dark-toned avatars.

I hope you realize that I don’t think the answer is or should be that porn needs to be banned. But I do think that concern is legitimate and we should consider giving resources and funds to better sex education.

And yet again this isn’t a court so maybe they shouldn’t be considered evidence but just ideas or thoughts? Like if there is a legitimate concern from youth professionals that porn is normalizing high risk unresponsible behavior we should be considering that and finding reasonable solutions to that.

Technically you can’t prove the causality of cigarettes causing lung cancer either but somehow we seem to accept that as a fact. Using anecdotes as talking points are not always in bad-faith. I can dissect if using anecdotes is done in bad faith or merely out of curiosity and trying to understand

Do we really need to distinquish between the different practices of breath play when we are talking about youth professionals hearing increasing amounts of experiences of getting choked non-consensually?

I’m not trying to pass anecdotes as evidence, this isn’t a court. I’m trying to suggest that if there is ”enough” anecdotes or correlative effects, it’s very intuitive to come to the conclusion that the answers to these topics are probably not as clear cut as one might think.

Top Gun maybe didn’t have the desired recruitment effect, but it was a recruitment piece. There’s an ample amount of personal anecdotes and correlative evidence how pop media shapes our lives. Mae Jemison - first black woman in space - has cited Uhura from Star Trek as her career inspiration.

Yet the powers that be literally partake in these ”Machiavellian schemes” to nudge society in a direction they deem desirable. Captain America was literally a WW2 propaganda piece and the whole ”Cool Japan” -effect was a concious effort of soft power by the Japanese government.

Mun mielestä tää on vähän mettistä tää lakimuutos, kun se on lopulta rajattu tohon ekaan työsuhteeseen minkä optimistisempi vois tulkita myös parannukseks työmarkkinoille. Eihän sitä määräaikaisuutta tarvi nykyäänkään oikeasti perustella.

Mun mielestä tää on vähän mettistä tää lakimuutos, kun se on lopulta rajattu tohon ekaan työsuhteeseen minkä optimistisempi vois tulkita myös parannukseks työmarkkinoille. Eihän sitä määräaikaisuutta tarvi nykyäänkään oikeasti perustella.
