The keycaps (dishes) are cast in resin in the blue silicone molds. I then make the polymer clay food and bake it in the yellow molds (cannot put resin keycaps in the oven). Then I assemble the parts and add the resin “broth” which also holds everything together.

I think you’ll have better luck with this for sure! Just make sure your blanks are PBT — ABS will melt. And be mindful of clearance; you’ll likely need to carve down the sides of the blanks a bit in order to create enough space to add a thin layer of clay and not cause contact with neighboring keys
