I want to be fair and acknowledge that it's mostly provincial & federal sponsorship that dried up. But the city's "zero means zero" budget certainly hasn't given them an opportunity to step in and save it for Vancouver. About 1/2 a day of the VPD budget would fund the entire thing.

I guess this is the inevitable result of austerity budgets from the city, province, and federal governments. Why invest in fun activities that generate millions in economic activity when we could build more pipelines instead, or save homeowners a few bucks on their property tax bill 😒

This is all fine and don't worry AI will definitely serve the betterment of humanity rather than the corporations and billionaires who own the algorithms
