This is also the reason why stuff like cookies on every single modern website are absolutely useless and don't bring anything good to the table at all.

First the author explains something like "Here's system A and it has these rules" okay so how about this scena- "SHUT UP!! Don't think about it!" oh okay "And then there is actually system B that is stronger and more better and is used by the main antagonist" oh so the antagonist is gonna win?...

Some suspending of disbelief is usually required with fiction. The heavier and more frequent that need becomes for the story to work, the more likely the story is just ass. Especially if it's trying to take itself seriously and isn't like parody-ing or making fun of some genre.
