I understand when it’s used for documentation purposes if someone believes there’s a risk the post will be deleted. The vast majority do not fall in that category.

The Reddit communities I know do end up being a bubble of sorts but a constructive one at that. How could we build something like that for topics like taxes, abortion, immigration, public health? I would imagine a few moderators for each community/topic would be necessary to ensure civility.

That’s an interesting idea. The few communities I navigate in Reddit have higher quality engagement and dialogue than what I generally see on Twitter-style platforms. I think at least one reason for that is because these are communities focused on a special interest.
