Mostly here for Benfica and Bulls debates; side hustling by pretending to understand politics and economics.
He’s like that melancholic feeling you have when you think back to better times. At his Benfica peak, it was pure joy.

‪Has anyone ever asked then ‘why’ those are the red‬ lines? Just a respect for the 2016 vote? Surely their policy making has to be more flexible than that, or we’re doomed. Someone needs to regularly remind them that not all decisions need to be binding forever, especially if they become harmful.

Martinez needs to push forward far more, but I think he’s being blocked by Donkey Dalot who just never has any idea where he needs to be. De Ligt needs to play central, and Yoro or Mazraui need to take the other slot, but Mazraui is in terrible form.

You were never taken to the latest post - you could see the tweet about the 1-0 before the 4-1. So much about football (/sport) twitter was about the escalation, the debate, never the ‘final answer’. Keen to hear your thoughts!

Great post. One question, as it still bugs me about Bluesky - can it really capture the magic of twitter sport when you can’t scroll up on your followers and see the discourse develop? I never personally used the twitter algorithm much, but I thought part of the appeal was that when you scrolled up

There’s got to be a tweak so that you’re not always taken to the latest post. So important in sport to see the discourse/debate as things progress. No one wants to go back and see the tweet for the 1-0 when you’ve been told it’s 2-3!

Twitter also does that (expertly, I think) by not taking you straight to the latest post. On your following tab, you always start a good few tweets before whatever is happening *right now*, allowing you to get a good sense for the mood as news develop.

You need to add a feature where when you open your timeline (Following), you’re always at least 1 hour/100 posts from the latest one. People love to scroll up and see news develop, rather than scrolling down and seeing posts that no longer make sense because time/events happened.
