I was thinking about the execution vs comprehension aspect and about how if I’m reading anything written in vernacular it’s comprehensible not as foreign language, but as something which still requires patience and observation to make sense - like slowing down and learning a boss pattern

Kinda depends on what kind of “fun” you’re looking for, like Use of Weapons has structural elements that are fascinating but it’s hard to call it fun.

That said, Excession is my pick because I love everything involving the Minds.

So, naturally, he’s a great dancer, but how is he at karaoke? Is he just an enthusiast? Does he have excellent breath support from watching singers, or does he watch laryngoscopes to nail the vocal fold movements?

There’s a VHS rip of it on internet archive. It was my first accidental exposure to any Ghibli material as a preteen so it’s always had a little place in my heart as well.
