If they lay off an employee due to trying to remove the whole gov't service they were providing, re-hire them, then lay off said employee again for not having a good enough "five important things you did this week" list, does that count as two lay-offs or just one for these numbers?

I find it's best to lump 2-3 similar characters together for this.
On a related note, I recently told one group that I would starting a side game wherein I will be occasionally inserting Bane quotes into my barbarian's RP and it was up to them to spot them. 😏

I played a reborn valor bard + crown paladin before. The idea was he stuck to his oath as a flagbearer, to motivate his comrades despite his wounds, so well even death itself couldn't keep him down. The idea came from those ghosts in skyrim who swore to guard certain divine locations for eternity.

During the last time, the party was walking away as 1 last PC who had been talked down 2/5 times prior, said he'd do it & see what happens. We said ok roll up a new character. bc you're alone...

The problem as usual is the two party system. How do you convince dems that they'll lose your vote when the alternative is "President Musk." Literally all they have to do to play good cop is continue saying "y'know, I think that guy really crossed the line there. I wouldn't do that to you...!"

My best friend & I keep having to explain this to people. They're like "I don't see the problem, we can just agree to disagree & keep being buds!" Nah, dude. Differing opinions are ok for things like the best ice cream flavor. You don't get to support the dehumanization of minorities the same way.

I plan to add a # of attack options for someone that wants to go full shield(s). So far I made proper items for a shield with a reaction (it's made from a pill bug-like creature so it can spring out and whack the attacker) and another one with a simple shield bash. I like your idea of BA offhand.

This is what always throws me for a loop when, during a horror story, op randomly adds how they figured out what problem player/dm was inspired by. They might even complain the person didn't follow the inspiration 1-1 then accuse them of writing fanfiction. Like there's no winning with you, huh? 😅

For me, usually a substantial lack of effort somewhere compared to the rest. The one that gets me most is when cheap cgi is included without any efforts to design it for or blend it into the series. So instead it stands out like a sore thumb.

UGH, that and we used to have a couple guys in an anime club who would constantly ask questions. "Who is that?" "What is happening?" "Why is this scene important?" "Who just killed them?" (1 min. into a murder mystery)

I'll always remember how in Necromance, the mage of the hero's party was said to be a powerhouse yet we didn't see her fight for a long time. When she finally did, she pulls out a fireball spell & says, "I'm about to end this man's whole career... YEET!" It actually sent me. 🤣

I mean, other than dnd being a hobby that inherently buffers me against stress by being a fun end to a day before I go to bed & start the grind anew, I don't really do self-inserts so I don't have CM characters. I'm more interested in combining mechanics &/or character quirks to make something fun.
