My favorite unreleased Transformer.
A patent for a Micro Change "Tape Dispenser Robo" was filed on 1984-09-27. Like MC-22 Beam Robo, it was canceled as Takara switched focus to Transformers. Invented by Masaki Maruyama. JPS6160986U

Trying out reposting my tfpatents account from twitter here to see if people are interested. It's been really fun going through all the old patents and making sense of the timelines, creators, diagrams, etc. Finding unproduced toys has been really cool too.
US Design Patent for Transformers Jazz, filed on 1984-03-08. Assembly diagrams are omitted for this patent since it is specifically a Design Patent. The drawing style is also very different as well compared to the Japanese patent! USD281087S

I paid my first tariff today. On $300 of dolls, I paid $100: that's the 10% tariff + $70 in DHL tariff filing fees. 🤮 I don't even know why they charged me tariffs if the value was under $800....
