I can tell you that this is probably going to be the album I listen to the most next year mainly because of thought I was dead (I’m not doing the ranking it takes to long just know it’s thought I was dead then everything else)

Chromakopia by Tyler the creator is tied for my favorite album this year (with gnx the album I’m reviewing tomorrow😁). It’s a near perfect blend of Tyler’s recent albums with that little extra and is a perfect personal album comparable to Mr.morale and the big steppers.

His bars hit, the chorus is amazing I can’t put into words how much I love this song

Janice is excellent. the blends of neo soul and pop rap is something you see detahjae do well on every track but I like to fast forward to my favorite track “Equinox, á le train” easily the best and prime example of literally everything great on the album

Ok if I were to describe listening to it in one word it would be “psychedelic” because god the beat drop on the second track (Thought That We Were Just Friends) dosent start the ball it just flat out throws it and it leads perfectly into the lead single Janice

I’m mad at myself for not listening to it earlier but now that I have I am glad I have.

The production on this album is incredible it’s all I could listen to on first listen but it’s lyrics radiant what blackness is and as a African American myself it wins a few brownie points (not like it needs them anyway).

I’m going to get this out the way now this album is the definition of 10/10 every song is amazing from intro to tell him is a beautiful and unique masterpiece of music. It’s a love letter to late 90s soul and hip hop.
