I've been debating, given your skill at including intrigue and political machinations in your writing, whether or not any of this reality would have passed your test for a realistic scenario. I'm trying to imagine a distant future author who writes in your genre trying to use our current reality.

good 60 minutes drive from where I was long drive home was no fun as was the sleepless night that followed. But all these years later it remains a seminal memory and the franchise, with all its ups and downs, has been the horror movie series (and now TV series) I'll watch.

I never liked horror movies. Still don't. But Alien was so much more than that. A gritty, realistic spaceship not all shiny and white. Grew up reading lots of science fiction (still do.) Alien had all the hallmarks of good sci fi. I saw it alone, the week it opened at a late night showing a 1/2

Ok. Name them. We'll wait.

Gotta agree with you. I always buy not quite top tier but reasonably close, and have to replace less often. That's not hoarding, that's being a smart educated consumer. My depression-era-child mother insfilled in me the notion that you can buy cheap and replace frequently, or be more thoughtful.

Done. As a prize, can I get a name pronunciation guide for Constituent Service?

Simple. At the minimum end we are asking for life experience, at the maximum end we're looking for cognitive ability

The Bee can be so arbitrary, and such a frustrating experience for those with extensive vocabularies. BTW, catching up on some missed GGK reading and am halfway through Sailing to Sarantium and talking my time to treasure every page and every word.

It would seem the email by Maxwell sets her up for "making a false statement" charges vis a vis her interview with Todd Blanche. And perhaps perjury if her trial transpired are thoroughly reviewed and show that she lied?

Nope. Not helpful in the least. Sorry.
November 11, 2025 at 7:17 PM
No, though perhaps we should consider finding a flexible way to implement them. 35 has served us since it was implemented some centuries back, but times change. Perhaps there are younger people capable of the job these days. Or perhaps we should raise the minimum age?

More like this, please.

A one size fits all policy is never optimal. It needs to be about competency and ability, not age. Term limits, yes. Fixed age limits, no.

Lost every ounce of respect I ever had for Lawrence as of this opening rant. Defending the indefensible by talking down to us and telling us congress is too complicated for us to understand. What elitist bs.

The problem with your thesis, Lawrence, is that someone who isn't up to herding cats shouldn't be herding cats.

I resisted watching but now am glad I did. No, it is not Mary Shelley's novel at all, but it is nevertheless a tour de force, and mostly done w/o cgi efx. Award-worthy for sure.
