Which is why it looks a bit wild when you create 45º selections, that part of the outline just blinks.
I wonder if any modern drawing software has improved this and actually animated a dashed outline around the selected shape. It's been a bit since I've looked at Photoshop. Hmm!

That might seem weird at first, but it's actually very helpful on a layerless black and white pixel canvas where you want to move some complex shapes around.
I expanded on the lasso tool a bit too: ⌥ click a pixel to perform a kind of Photoshop Magic Wand tool selection. Basically a flood fill.

Of course, some of the typefaces only work at larger point sizes but are just as beautiful if not more so. The love put into these. So happy to have found them.
